Free Turkey Mod Crochet Pattern

This pattern is a free mod for my mini Ami Turkey pattern. To make this mod you will need the original Turkey pattern that is available in my Ko-Fi shop and Ravelry.

Tommy Mini Ami Turkey Pumpkin Mod

Tommy the Thanksgiving Turkey

Tommy may be small, but he brings big Thanksgiving cheer! With his bright feathers and happy little waddle, he spends the season reminding everyone to slow down, smile, and be grateful for the simple things. Wherever Tommy goes, he spreads warmth, giggles, and a whole lot of holiday joy.

Materials:

3mm crochet hook

Lion Brand Pound Of Love in brown, yellow, red and orange

14mm safety eyes x2

Poly fill

Tapestry needle

Stitch markers

Scissors

Abbreviations ENG IS TERMS

MC: magic circle

Inc: increase

rnd(s): round(s)

sc: single crochet

Dec: invisible decrease -insert hook into next front loop, yarn over and pull up a loop] 2 times, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

st(s): stitch(es)

CH: chain

F/O: fasten off

TR: treble crochet

hdc: half double crochet

Level: Advance Beginner

This pattern is written using American crochet terminology. This pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise. 

Pumpkin Turkey Mod

Head/body Follow original pattern from R1 to R25. Note: in R26 the BLO sts needs to be align in the back of the turkey, due to tension difference you may need to adjust a stitch or two.

R26: (5sc, Inc) x4, BLO 5sc, Both st, Inc, 5sc, Inc (42)

R27-R33: 42sc (42) (7 rounds)

R34: (5sc, Dec) x6 (36)

R35: (4sc, Dec) x6 (30) 

R36: (3sc, Dec) x6 (24) 

Stuff the body firmly 

R37: (2sc, Dec) x6 (18) 

R38: (1sc, Dec) x6 (12) 

R39: (1sc, Dec) x4 (8) 

F/O, sew the hole shut and leave an extra long tail to 

make the pumpkin.

Pumpkin Shape: take an extra long piece of orange yarn and thread your tapestry needle, insert in R26, pull out in the middle of your closing at the bottom of the body, reinsert in the same st on R26 from the outside and pull tight, repeat around the head. F/O, weave in the end.

Follow the beak instruction from the turkey.

Follow snood instruction from the turkey.

Follow wings instruction from turkey.

Tail, pull a loop on R26 of the body where we worked through BLO. We will alternate between Red and Yellow for the feathers. I started with red.

R1: ch 8, dc in the sec ch from the hook, 6hdc, slst in the same st, change to yellow, repeat for all 5 feathers. F/O, weave in the tails.
